Butte County Sheriff’s Office responds to reports of shots fired.

Oroville, Ca– At approximately 8:00 PM,  on December 25, 2017, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received reports of shots fired in the area of Foothill Mobile Home Park in Oroville.

BCSO Deputies responded to the scene and located an adult male, with multiple gunshot wounds, lying in the street in front of a residence inside Foothill Mobile Home Park. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Due to the suspicious nature of the incident, BCSO Investigations Unit responded and is actively investigating the incident as a homicide. Limited information is available at this time. Additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

Earlier today:

Multiple reports of a man down @ 7:53pm on Monday 12/25/17 in front of a house on D St at the Foothill Mobile Park located at 2920 Clark Rd. (Butte Valley). Multiple RP’s reported by calling 911 upon hearing 4 shots (other people say 3 and another one 6 shots heard). Deputies were dispatched code 3 at 7:59pm. When 2 deputies arrived at around 8:00pm they found a man dead laying in front of a mobile home on D st and the crime scene tape was put in place around the area. Medical started to stage. One other deputy arrived by then.

Updates: @ 9:49pm the Butte County Sheriff’s office confirms the victim is an adult Hispanic male and the case is being investigated as a homicide. Witnesses said a car sped off from the scene.

@ 8:08pm clear for medics to enter by BCSO.
