Three Arrested in Paradise on January 1st. with Numerous Stolen Burned Firearms from CampFire Destroyed Properties

On 1/2/19 at approximately 1012 hours, officers responded to the area of 5699 Hazel Way for an illegal fire that was burning at the location. Upon their arrival, officers contacted Ecko Palmer, DOB 1/5/01 and Alex Bundlie, DOB 4/19/92, who indicated that they were camping on the property that was destroyed as a result of the Camp Fire.

During the contact, Levi Nierenhausen was found hiding under a vehicle in the driveway of the location. During a search of the property, Officers saw two methamphetamine pipes in plain view through the open camp tent entry, which was being used by Ecko, Alex and Levi. Officer also found numerous firearms being stored under a makeshift cover over the tent.

Though the firearms were significantly damaged from the fire, officers were able to locate the serial number of an Armalite AR15 Assault Rifle. The owner of the rifle was contacted and reported that the rifle had been stolen from his destroyed property in Paradise.

Officer located 14 additional burned firearms in and around the tent, including a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol found, hidden, under a mattress. Two shot guns, with freshly “Sawed off” barrels were recovered. The owners of the remaining firearms have yet to be identified.

A Records check returned that Levi had two active felony warrant for the Theft of a Vehicle, Possession of stolen vehicle, Failure to Appear and a misdemeanor warrant for Vandalism. During a search, officers found a sharpened, fixed blade, weapon in a pant pocket of Alex Bundlie. Alex was also found to be in possession of a bag containing methamphetamine. Levi Nierenhausen was arrested on the above warrants and violations of California Penal Code 496(a), Felony Possession of Stolen Property, 148(a)(1), Obstructing or Delaying a Peace Officer, 1203.2(a), Felony Violation of Probation, California Health and Safety Code 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine and 11350(a), Possession of a controlled substance.

Alex Bundlie was arrested for violations of California Penal Code 21310, Possession of a Dirk or Dagger, 496(a), Felony Possession of Stolen Property, 148(a), Obstructing or Delaying a Peace Officer, California Health and Safety Code 11350(a), Possession of a Controlled Substance, 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine and 11364(a), Possession of a Smoking Device.

Ecko Palmer was arrested for violations of California Penal Code 496(a), Felony Possession of Stolen Property, 148(a), Obstructing or Delaying a Peace Officer, California Health and Safety Code 11350(a), Possession of a Controlled Substance, 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine, and 11364(a), Possession of Smoking Device.
