Chico, CA – FEMA and Cal OES were at the Chico City Council meeting on Tuesday night answering questions about their proposed temporary housing project for Camp Fire survivors.
The proposal includes 48 manufactured homes on the 13 acre property at Hegan Lane Business Park. The homes range between one to three bedrooms in size and would be furnished with basic furniture and supplies.
The temporary housing would stay in Chico for 12 months, with the option of two six-month extensions, for a possible total of two years. The project would take four months to construct, according to FEMA.
FEMA and Cal OES are checking out several locations throughout Butte County for the project, a few of which are in Chico.
