Oroville, Ca— On May 5, 2019 at approximately 11:10PM, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Deputy Stothers conducted a traffic stop after locating a vehicle with expired registration in the area of Monte Vista Avenue near Farley Street in Oroville.
Deputy Stothers recognized the driver of the vehicle as Cameron Garcia Ponce, age 30, from Oroville. Ponce had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Deputy Stothers detained Ponce and conducted a search of the vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle, Deputy Stothers located 5.4 ounces of heroin, 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, a pay owe sheet, several empty zip lock baggies, four glass vials, one containing Equipoise (a steroid), and Narcan. Deputy Stothers also located counterfeit money in Ponce’s wallet.
Ponce was arrested for sales and transportation of heroin, sales and transportation of methamphetamine, sales and transportation of steroids, and possession of counterfeit money. Ponce was booked into the Butte County Jail with a bail amount of $181,000.
